Paints, lacquers, surfaces
In all industrial and consumer goods sectors, demands on processes and products are increasing. Better surface quality or coating is often part of these requirements. Paints, varnishes, and other coating materials mainly consist of a mixture of various fine powders, the production of which generates dust. Infastaub offers suitable dust extraction solutions for all production steps that meet the high requirements for product recovery and purity.

Dust removal from a spray dryer
Latex polymer powder is manufactured at a production plant in Ireland. The product is obtained as a dry powder after passing through a spray dryer. A downstream INFA-MINI-JET hose filter removes dust from the gas stream. There is a risk of explosion due to gaseous solvents in the exhaust air stream. The filter is therefore designed to be pressure shock resistant up to 10 bar, and all electrical parts (solenoid valves, control unit, differential pressure switch) are protected by pressure encapsulation for use in ATEX Zone 1.
The pressure-resistant dust pot should only be removed when the manual shut-off valve at the outlet is closed. This is indicated by intrinsically safe limit switches. Due to the low room height, split filter support baskets are used, which minimize the required removal height when changing the filter hose.

Dust removal during the emptying of bags containing dyes and additives
Twenty bag emptying filters, consisting of a bag hopper and a compressed air-cleaned cartridge filter, were delivered to a paint factory.
All bag emptying stations are centrally vacuumed via a common fan. The pneumatic cleaning of the filter cartridges is automatically switched on and off via a proximity switch, which is initiated by the bag emptying door.
Since these are small batches, depending on production, the bags to be emptied are slit open by hand and emptied into the discharge chute. A bag storage area in front and a grating in the discharge chute facilitate handling.
